Miss Dolly La Roo. Decided to head West, looking for love and opportunity.

So she packed her very best dress and dancing slippers.

And West it would be. This was a long journey you see.

She came to a town called Silverwood, filled with miners, it had a small store

And a bank of course, for the miners to deposit all their riches.

And a Dance Hall down by the lake. Rooms to let above.

This would be the place for her.

Her Prince Charming surely would be here.

So each night she would dawn her prettiest dress and dancing slippers.

With her dark auburn hair, and bright blue eyes.

She would sprinkle glitter in her hair, rouge on her face and little lip wax.

She would enter the dance hall, all the miners would be in a line.

Just 10 cents a dance. She would turn and give them a wink and a cute little smile.

And the line would grow bigger and bigger.

But where was Prince Charming?

Night after night, it became quite alarming.

Every Monday she would go to bank, to deposit her dimes.

The ladies in town would stare, and were quite disapproving,

She would be so surprised that very night, a handsome miner came thru,

He’d been in the hills all this time. He hit a big strike, and was the riches miner in town.

That very night he took Dolly to the Preacher, and they were wed.

And now you see she is the most respectable lady in town.
