The Saga of Dolly La Roo: Chapter 4

Days seem to go by fast. Jim had built Dandy’s Emporium.

The town of Silverwood was growing in huge strides.

This was not unusual in towns of their day.

It was right on Main Street, for everyone to see.with a great big glass window

That was open for display, so everyone could see new things,  and what was on

Sale today.

This was such a treat for the ladies, they had not seen so many lovely things.

Since they had left the East, so many years ago.

There were button’s and bows and ribbon for your hair. Silk yardage with so

Many colors they couldn’t  believe their eye’s.

Now they will be the best dressed ladies in the towns. All around.

They had sugar and spices, and all kinds of good things to eat.

Tool’s and work clothes, ropes & nails anything you might need.

Jim was always open to suggestions of things people might need.

Soon they were in stock and gone before dark.

When children left the store, Jim would always hand them a peppermint stick.

Any order that you couldn’t carry, that was  too big. He would delivery them right to your door. With a smile on his face, he would say no charge.

As you can see the store was a great success .

Silverwood was a great community, they have been so good to Dolly and Me and

Our children. It’s time for me to give back.

I will build a great big school, just at the end of the street. All the children will come from near and far. To get the education that they deserve. And so it will go on.
